The Rest of the Meaning...

Paul Harvey has entertained us for years with his series "The Rest of the Story". It attracts something very basic inside all of us. Whenever we hear a story, we have a suspicion that there's more to the story than we've already heard. Often this is innocent, parts are left out due to time or space limitations. But, when people are attempting to control or influence us, the omissions can be very deliberate. And it's up to us, each individual to find those hidden parts, for our own safety, sanity, and for those close to us.

On these pages, I'll be presenting some useful techniques for each of us to detect what is really happening in our worlds. I'll break the techniques, which I sometimes call tools, into 3 categories, those that involve Numbers, those that involve Words, and those that involve Ideas. No worries, the Number techniques are really simple, easy to use, and fun!

Number Techniques
- 100% Minus OR Proportion OR Self-Defense against Numbers.
  Very simply, whenever someone quotes a percentage, calculate the rest of the percentage. So when someone says: 25% of Americans are obese, subtract 25% from 100% and finish their sentence with: 75% of Americans are NOT obese.
Idea Techniques
- Both - see: Both I used to call this the 122 Model, which stood for moving from 1 to 2 dimensional thinking. Very powerful.
Word Techniques
- Verbs have real Subjects and Objects
